Wardens directed to focus on positive traffic culture

Staff Report

RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday directed the traffic wardens to focus on promoting positive traffic culture.

He was addressing traffic police at a ceremony at Rawalpindi Arts Council in connection with first anniversary celebration of Traffic Wardens System (TWS). City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Akhtar Abbas, Senior Traffic Officer (STO) Malik Matloob Awan and others attended the ceremony.

The RPO lauded the overall performance of traffic wardens and appreciated the efforts of Mobile Traffic Education Wing for educating road users about traffic laws.

He directed traffic wardens to be polite to road users and control their anger while dealing with them. He said they should enforce traffic laws without any discrimination as no one was above the law.

The CPO said the Punjab Government was committed to overcome the problems being faced by traffic wardens during their duty. He awarded shields to those officers who demonstrated excellent performance during last one year.
