Wildlife secretary takes notice of dog-bear fight in Sahiwal village

LAHORE: Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Babar Bharwana has taken serious notice of fighting between a dog and a bear at Noor Shah – Baba Murad Shah Karial in a mela organised by local influentials a day ago.

Dog and bear fighting is prohibited in Punjab, and such fights are a contravention of the Wildlife Act. While taking notice, the secretary suspended the Sahiwal district wildlife officer and the Multan wildlife assistant director. A case was also sent to the Anti-Corruption Department for investigation. Bharwana urged all officers to stop such happenings during melas. pr
