Man axes wife, lover

KARACHI: A man axed his young wife and her alleged paramour claiming karo-kari at Qazzafi Town within the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police station on Wednesday. 

The victims of the incident were identified as Shazia, 21, daughter of Mohammad Yousuf and her relative Jan Mohammad, 35, son of Ghulab. Their bodies were shifted to the JPMC where doctors said that both victims were axed to death.

SHO Zahir Shah said that Mohammad Rashid Tanoli, husband of the deceased Shazia, killed them over karo-kari after seeing them in an objectionable condition in his home. Tanoli and the deceased Jan Mohammad used to work together as labourers. Area sources said that the culprit, after killing the deceased, surrendered himself to the police. The instrument used in the assassination was also recovered. Police has lodged an FIR against the culprit and initiated further probe.

Woman found dead: A 50-year-old woman’s body was recovered from a nullah located near the Lyari Express Way within the limits of Docks police station. Police officials said that the body was almost two to three days old and the woman was shot dead as there were bullet wounds found on her body.

Body found: A beheaded body Habib Khan Bukhari was discovered from the bushes located near Radio Pakistan Building within the limits of Khuldabad police post. Khuldabad post Incharge Mir Samad said that the deceased was killed almost a day ago.

Young girl commits suicide: Faiza, 24, daughter of Hanif, committed suicide by consuming pesticides after a fight with her parents at her home located within the limits of Garden police station. SHO Abdul Ghaffar Korai said that the girl was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi where she breathed her last. staff report
