‘TNSM not responsible for peace’

LAHORE: The spokesman for Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) has said establishing peace was the responsibility of the government and not the TNSM, a private TV channel reported on Monday. Talking to reporters in Batkhela, he said the TNSM would only be responsible for peace if ‘sharia’ was enforced in the Malakand division. According to the channel, he called for an end to the military action against the Taliban in parts of the division and said peace could not be restored by force and could only come through “the enforcement of sharia”. He said the NWFP government had not consulted the TNSM on the appointment of qazis. daily times monitor
