Kayani – who called on Gilani at Prime Minister’s House – also told the country’s chief executive about his visits to Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the NATO headquarters and his interaction with various officials.

According to a government statement, a unanimous resolution on national security adopted by parliament also came under discussion, in addition to an upcoming briefing to the parliamentary committee on national security by the foreign minister, the defence minister, the interior adviser and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general. National Assembly: The prime minister earlier told the National Assembly that the proceedings of the briefing would be in-camera. He said the ISI chief would take the committee into confidence over the prevailing situation in the country. APP quoted him as saying that the briefing was likely to take place in a week.
