Decision on IMF loan after 10th: Tareen

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will make a decision on whether or not to seek financial help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after November 10, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Shaukat Tareen said on Friday. “Talks are still going on with other friends and we’ll decide after November 10 what we do,” Tareen told Reuters by telephone from Dubai. “But we need to finalise things now so that if we come back and decide to get a loan from the IMF, we don’t want them to say ‘the process will take another two to three weeks’,” he said. “We’re making sure that all the negotiations are completed before the middle of this month,” he said. Tareen said Saudi Arabia had given a positive response to a Pakistani request for crude oil on deferred payments. reuters
