IHC to hear plea against Musharraf and Aziz today

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear a writ petition today (Wednesday) seeking registration of a criminal case against General (r) Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and others on abduction charges.
A single bench comprising of Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam will hear the case. The petitioner, Defence of Human Rights (DHR) Chairman Khalid Khawaja, has requested the court to also order registration of an FIR (First Information Report) against former interior minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Khalid Pervez and the then deputy commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Ali for allegedly abducting him on January 26, 2007.
Khawaja said that he was falsely implicated in different cases and illegally detained for a long time. He had tried to register an FIR against the accused but the police did not entertain his application. He allegedthat the respondents had illegally proceeded against him on the behest of Musharraf and Aziz. He prayed to the court to order registration of FIRs against the respondents.
