Aap ki Ankhain Hamesha Roshan

Staff Report

KARACHI: Aap ki Ankhain Hamesha Roshan, a New Karachi-based programme, is funding cornea grafting for anyone in the country who deems it necessary.

“We have very limited resources as we have recently launched this public service. So far we have provided the total treatment expense for cornea grafting to 50 patients and are planning to extend this service to many more,” said Mahmood Parekh, the chief convener of the programme.

He said that the aim behind establishing this public service is to help those patients who are unable to afford cornea grafting. With the passage of time, this programme will be extended to different parts of the country.

“We have requested all eye specialists throughout Pakistan to recommend to us any patient they come across who cannot afford this treatment,” said Parekh. He noted that famous doctors and eye specialists such as Dr S. Hashmani, Dr Jamshed Nasir, Dr Aqil Qazi, Dr Khalid Talpur, Dr Aamir Asrar, Dr Ibrahim Bhutto and Dr N. Kundi are working with the Aap ki Ankhain Hamesha Roshan programme. Cataracts need immediate operation, noted the convener.
