Girl killed over honour

LAHORE: A 22-year-old girl was stabbed to death by her two brothers for honour in Baghbanpura on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Shahnaz, daughter of Faqeer Hussain. The police said that Shanaz’s brothers, Babar Hussain and Shaukat Ali, had had a grudge against Shahnaz.

On Saturday, they thrashed her to death. The police registered a case against the accused and sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

Woman strangled: A 25-year-old woman was strangled by some unidentified people in the Badami Bagh police precinct on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Farzana, wife of Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Badami Bagh, was married for three years. She used to help her husband make shoeboxes at their home. Hanif, Farzana’s brother-in-law, said that, on Saturday, when Sharif had reached home, he found the door open and his wife dead.

The police sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

Father of two commits suicide: A father of two children committed suicide by hanging himself in the Ghalib Market Police precinct on Saturday.

The police said that Sheraz (37), after an exchange of harsh words with his father, Zaigham, hanged himself to death.

Motorcyclist dies: A motorcyclist died while another was injured when their motorcycles collided on The Mall on Saturday. The police said that Shahzad (22), a resident of Shalamar Link Road, was riding a motorcycle. When he reached The Mall, he collided with a motorcyclist, Tariq.

Edhi officials rushed them to a nearby hospital where Shahzad succumbed to his injuries while Tariq was in critical condition.
