SSP Chaudhry Aslam rejoins police after 16 months

KARACHI: SSP Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam will join the police force from Saturday (today), after 16 months of absence. Aslam was in police custody on charges of murdering Rasool Bux Brohi, a farmer in the interior of Sindh. He was released along with his colleague DSP Irfan Bahadur. A special investigation vell (SIC) has been formed at Garden Police Headquarter to work against terrorism, on the directives of Sindh Inspector General of Police Azhar Ali Farooqui. DSP Irfan Bahadur and other policemen will work for the SIC. “I am glad to join the force again and will try my best to work well,” said Aslam. A meeting is being conducted by higher officials to decide who will be in the SIC, said Bahadur. staff report
