Floral exhibition at Lawrence Gardens

LAHORE: A floral exhibition at the Lawrence Gardens is attracting a large number of visitors from across the city.

Parks and Horticulture Authority has arranged the exhibition of chrysanthemum to promote the gardening among the people. A large number of species of the flower are on display. About 1,000 visitors visit the exhibition daily, a PHA official told Daily Times. He said the flowers had taken a year to bloom. “Gardeners take a lot of care to grow these plants, branches are cut systematically,” he said.

Saqib Raza, a visitor, said the eye-catching sight of the beautiful flowers had relaxed his nerves. He said he was surprised to know that more than 150 species of the flowers were on display.

Nosheen, a visitor, said sight of beautiful flowers had reminded her of Wordsworth’s poem The Daffodils. She said, “Flowers make the surroundings beautiful. The floral exhibitions provide the people with an opportunity to learn about the various species.” staff report
