Capital to have peace committees
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad SSP Syed Kaleem Imam has said that peace committees will be setup in the all police stations of the capital and police officials suspended in the past will be reinstated.
While talking to reporters, Imam said that the peace committees are being established aiming to give relief to the citizens, work in this regard has been started and all segments of the society will be included in these peace committees.
Answering a question regarding no change in the members of Reconciliation Committees established for the last seven years, he said that these committees would be made more effective and new members will be included.
Highlighting the steps taken for the welfare of the employees of the Islamabad Police, he said that better treatment would be provided to low-income employees.
He said the police officials who show a better performance shall be awarded; adding that negligence will not be spared at any cost.
Commenting on the law and order situation in the capital, Imam said that the situation in this regard is satisfactorily.
CDA allows Polyclinic admin to expand hospital:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed Federal Government Service Hospital, commonly known as Poly Clinic, administration to expand the hospital building.
On completion, the hospital will have a five-story building. Earlier, the administration of the hospital had sought permission from the federal government to construct an extra building at Argentine Park in order to expand the hospital, sources in the Health Ministry told reporters.
The administration had been asked to take a No Objection Certificate from the Argentine Consulate, Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Planning and Development Division.
Despite receiving the certificate the concerned departments, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has refused to allot land to the hospital administration due to unknown reasons. The CDA has now allowed the hospital administration to expand the building but the administration has said that it is impossible to construct a five-story building at the preset place.
CDA transfers three officers : ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Development Department Administration has transferred three officers.
According to the notification issued by the CDA, Parliament House Assistant Director Mumtaz Noor has been transferred and deputed as Maintenance assistant director while Maintenance Assistant Director Haji Gulzar has been transferred and deputed as Parliament House assistant director.
Muhammad Irfan (BPS-18) has been deputed as Lights Division deputy director.
WASA to introduce new package for defaulters: In order to expedite the recovery campaign, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has decided to introduce a new cheap package for defaulters.
The defaulters will have the facility of submitting their dues in very easy installments. The Punjab government has directed the WASA managing director to recover dues from defaulters therefore the new package is being introduced.
In a statement, the WASA managing director directed defaulters to take advantage from the proposed package, as it is being introduced for their convenience.
Division of Edu Dept on basis of Town stopped: The City District Government has accepted the demands of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) regarding suspension of the notification of division of Education Department on the basis of towns and creation of 97 new vacancies in the Education Department offices all over the district.
These decisions were taken during a meeting held here between District Nazim Raja Javed Ikhlas and a delegation of the APCA. The APCA delegation led by Clerks Association Punjab Vice Prescient Shahzad Kiani while District President Chaudhary Mubashar Ahmed was also part of the delegation.
The City District Government also accepted the demands of stopping the staff of Potohar Town Education Department office from functioning on temporary basis due to which the appointment of the head of this department has been stopped. It has been decided to seek permission from the Punjab Education Department Ministry in this regard.
The delegation stated that the established of Potohar Town Education Department was not a right decision as employees with the posts have been deputed in this department, which was affecting the functioning of other departments.
32 new lifts to be installed in Federal Secretariat: Thirty-two modern lifts will be installed in the Federal Secretariat and tenders in this regard have been received.
The project wil be completed in one and half year and PC-1 of the project has been approved.
Tenders of the project were opened under the supervision of the tender committee comprising of Parliament House Director Syed Ibrar Hussain Shah, DNA Mumtaz Bhatti and Deputy Director Altaf Khan.
Three companies submitted offers with a Japanese firm offering the minimum bid, which is 12 percent less than the estimated cost of PC-1, which is Rs 174 million. The other two companies offered Rs 174 million and Rs 192 million respectively and the Japanese firm was recommended to award the work of the project. online
