India’s Dabhol plant to run full throttle by Nov

NEW DELHI: India’s Dabhol power plant could run at its full capacity of 2,150 megawatts by end-November if gas supplies are made available, Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said on Friday.

“Based on the indications given by Petronet LNG, the revival of power block III of 740 MW has been advanced and is now planned for April and power block I of 670 MW is planned for November, on best efforts basis,” the minister said.

The $2.9 billion project, built by Enron Corp., in the western state of Maharashtra has been running block II with 740 MW capacity using naphtha since April 2006. reuters
