Rain, snow likely in quake-hit areas tomorrow

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall followed by a cold wave in the earthquake-hit areas of the country from Saturday.

In a statement on Thursday, the department said that a westerly wave is expected to approach the upper parts of Pakistan on Saturday, and will cause scattered rain with snowfall over mountains in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Chakothi, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Shangla, Kaghan, Naran and adjoining areas.

This spell is likely to continue for two to three days, and will be followed by a cold wave on Sunday night, the statement read.
