Will the nation learn a lesson from the earthquake?

LAHORE: Will the Pakistani nation and the government learn a lesson from the October 8 earthquake and evolve a strategy to deal with natural disasters and serve the nation honestly?

A tutorial titled ‘Earthquake catastrophe and the role of youth’, organised by Kinnaird College’s (KC) Mass Communication Department and Journal Club on Tuesday, took up this question.

Singer Fakhar-e-Alam, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Geo TV producer and anchorperson Abdur Rauf and ARY Digital Bureau Chief Nasarullah were the key speakers on the occasion. The speakers shared their experiences in the earthquake-hit areas. They said that the affected people still needed help. They praised the youth for their role in the relief activity, demanded investigations into the collapse of buildings on a large scale and stressed the need for seismic education to students and research on seismic activities. staff report
