Pagara predicts ‘political quake’
Staff Report
KARACHI: The spiritual leader of Hurs and head of his own faction of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PMLF), Pir Pagara, once again predicted Sunday a big change in the political scenario of the country.
“[The] ‘natural’ earthquake has passed and now [a] political quake is likely in the country,” he said, talking to journalists at Karachi Race Club.
His son and PMLF provincial president Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashidi, Sanghar district nazim Khuda Bux Rajer and others accompanied him on the occasion.
As a result of the political quake, Pagara said the ministers and the other members of the parliament would not retain their present position.
Replying to a question, he said he “has no relation or contact with the forward bloc” in the ruling PML as “they [members of the forward bloc] are not real Muslim Leaguers.” Replying to another question, regarding arrival of ex-Punjab governor and former PMLQ president Mian Azher in Karachi, he said he had not met him but had held a meeting with his son Sadruddin Shah Saturday night. “Mian Azher is our man and an old Muslim Leaguer,” he stated.
Asked whether PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto was about to return to her homeland, Pagara answered the question by asking why she come home, leaving her luxurious life in Dubai.
