AJK ministers looted relief trucks
ISLAMABAD: “AJK ministers are involved in the looting of relief trucks and due to the slackness of the government, many lives have been lost,” former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood said while talking to a private TV channel.” Unfortunately, the government of Pakistan has not only been apathetic but the ministers became involved in looting relief trucks and created difficulties for the people. Kashmir resolution, a must for durable peace
ISLAMABAD: “A peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue is a must for durable peace and prosperity in the region,” Hamid Nasir Chattha, special committee of Parliament on Kashmir chairman, said while talking to the ambassadors of the Philippines and South Africa. He said that the international community could play a crucial role in finding a solution for the Kashmir dispute. He urged the diplomats to persuade the parliamentarians in the countries of their postings, to visit both parts of Kashmir and see the human rights violation committed by the security forces in Indian held Kashmir. He said that India should repeal Kashmir’s specific draconian laws, withdraw troops from Indian occupied Kashmir and allow free movement of the political leadership on both sides of LoC. nni
People should be immediately relieved from load shedding
ISLAMABAD: People should be immediately relieved from load shedding in the Northern areas, said Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, at a meeting in Islamabad. He said that as a short term measure diesel generation of 12 MW will be made available in Gilgit, Skardu, Chalas and Hunza at a cost of Rs 150 million. In addition to the 44MW hydel energy plants, 100MW hydel energy would be made available during the next three years and Rs 26.800 are being spent. online
