Political leaders will celebrate Eid with quake victims

LAHORE: Most of the political leaders present in the country will celebrate Eid with earthquake victims of Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Mansehra while exiled leaders Nawaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto and Altaf Hussain have directed their party leaders to spend Eid in quake-hit areas as well.

President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will visit the northern areas of Pakistan during Eid’s celebrations while Pakistan Muslim League Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary General Mushahid Hussain will go to Muzaffarabad. Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will also visit Muzaffarabad after offering Eid prayers in Gujrat. He directed ministers Tahir Ali Javed (Health), Imran Masud (Education), Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal (Food) and Chaudhry Zaheeruddin (Communication and Works) to visit the devastated areas as well.

PML-Nawaz Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain have also directed their party leaders to celebrate Eid with earthquake victims and bereaved families.

PML-N leaders Raja Zafarul Haq, Saranjam Khan and Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and PPP leaders Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Jehangir Badr, Khalid Ahmad Khan Kharal, Munir Ahmad Khan and Qasim Zia will spend two days in the affected areas.
