Power plants to be shifted to coal within two years: Dastagir


SARGODHA: Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastagir has said all possible resources are being utilized to shift all power plants over coal within two yaears that will reduce prices of electricity. Addressing an oath taking ceremony of newly elected members of Anjuman-e-Tajran, the minister said that the PML-N government had put the country on a path to prosperity after launching various projects within twelve months that will produce fruitful results soon. He said the government had launched two power plants at Gaddani that will generate 6000 MW electricity, adding that the work has already began at 2100 MW Nuclear Atomic plant in Karachi. He said not a single dam had been constructed in the country since 1974 after Tarbella Dam but the present government has started the Wasu Dam with an estimated cost of Rs 600 million. Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Hamid Hameed, MPA Abdul Razzaq Dhilun and a large number of traders were also present at the occasion.
