Pakistani elected as VP at Asia-Pacific Forum’s board

ISLAMABAD – A senior research scholar and industrial economist Dr Talat Mahmood has been elected as the vice president of the Board of Directors of the Asia-Pacific Forum Berlin (APFB) in its annual general meeting held here on Saturday.

The organisation works under the patronage of the federal president of Germany, while several federal ministers as well as members of the top management from other disciplines constitute the advisory board. Dr Mahmood is one of the founding members of the APFB and longtime chairman of the Pakistan Forum within the APFB.

Presently, Dr Mahmood is associated as a senior fellow with the Social Sciences Research Centre (WZB) Berlin. He is currently researching German-Pakistani bilateral relations, international migration and the impact of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on Pakistan’s economy.
