LAHORE: Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) launched its new website on Tuesday to keep up with the demands of the citizens for transparency, greater engagements and empowering the general public by allowing them to view the ongoing new schemes along with other major development initiatives by the government.
P&D Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi at ceremony of website said it was a beginning of transparent system.
All data relating to development schemes/ projects would be available on this website for general public. The P&D remains committed to a development strategy fulfills the needs and aspirations of the people, he said.
He said the new version has now been launched in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and P&D Department at the Arfa Software Technology Park.
He appreciated the efforts of PITB facilitating P&D Department in the development and launch of the website. He said this website was an epitome of the digital era and depicted the standardised e-Governance Model required to cope with the tremendous and continuous changes in the dynamic ICT environment. He expressed the systematic and comprehensive menu of this website was expected to introduce the departmental activities and its efforts.
The website is hosted on a platform based on a proven content management used worldwide for deploying secure, reliable and approval based content workflow thus allowing a secure hosting environment, he added.
Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, Chairman PITB Omer Saif, senior Chief Coordination P&D Javed Latif, Director General e-Government Sajid Latif, Joint Director e-Government and Industry PITB Saima Shaikh and other officials of P&D and PITB attended the ceremony.
