LAHORE – The German investors will establish a solar power plant at the Rachna Industrial Park on Lahore-Sheikhupura Road and the plant will be operational by first quarter of 2015.
The plant will produce three megawatts electricity for the factory owners of the industrial park, said Mohsin Syed, the chief executive officer of the National Industrial Parks Management and Development Company, while talking to reporters on Wednesday.
Mohsin said that the plant would ensure uninterrupted power supply to factories at the Rachna Industrial Park. He said 16-20 factories would be operational while another 15-20 would also be in construction phase by the end of the second quarter of 2015.
About rate of electricity for the industrial units, he said uninterrupted supply of electricity would be ensured to industrialists and they would be charged at utility tariff. To a question, he said 80 per cent construction of link road on left side of the upper Chenab canal had been completed which would link the Rachna Industrial Park to motorway, Lahore Sheikhupura road, Faisalabad and other parts of the province directly.
"This link road will be hopefully opened for all kind of traffic during the next four to six weeks,” the chief executive officer said.
